Keys to Bhutan is a rags-to-riches story. Founded by two childhood friends Anan and Gelay. It initially started as a web based travel company being one of the first and the oldest travel website in Bhutan.
All these two young lads had was a tiny storeroom, an antique computer, full of patience, big heart and a big dream as well. They entered into the travel industry as a part time guide during their school vacation. In 1999 after their graduation as expected it was nothing surprising when 99% graduates would happily join the government service making their parents PROUD!!! The two adventurous and energetic buddies took a different turn and opened their own travel company with one computer in a small storeroom of their parents but with a big dream.
Ultimately, hard work paid off these guys and in a short span of time, from scratch now Keys to Bhutan is a most prominent, well-established high-end company and a known brand in Bhutan tourism Industry. It’s one the fastest growing company and has one of the largest fleet of it’s own transport and a set of well-qualified guides. Proudly, it’s now a partner to the Indian’s largest online holiday maker, Make My Trip.
We are backed up by team of young energetic professionals for it’s company’s unique policy to recruit only the fresh graduates. Unlike any other companies, as a trendsetter, now our only goal is to be recognized as, “THE BEST PLACE TO WORK IN” for our employees.
Keys to Bhutan is licensed and fully registered with the Tourism Council of Bhutan, Royal Government of Bhutan, and the founder is one of the Board of Directors of the Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators. Our head office is based in Thimphu, with an outlet in Paro (airport town).
In Bhutan, there are about 200 tour operators, just like us. What sets us apart are our guides. Guides can make or break your trip to Bhutan. You are with your guide the moment you set your foot in Bhutan, and your guide will be there to wave you goodbye when you leave Bhutan. Besides showing you around, he will be your weather man, your complaint box, you best friend, and your language interpreter. He will order your meals, reconfirm your flight, recheck your hotel bookings and coax you to climb that pass. We cannot stress more on the importance of having a good guide.
All our guides have at least a university degree. Because of their intimate knowledge on Bhutan and their efficiency, we are frequently asked to loan them out to other governmental and private agencies, when they have a need to impress their guests. Our guides have led groups for all the big names in the travel industry, besides giving ambassadors, diplomats and other government guests a good time.
