Day 01| Arrival in Paro

Early morning flight to Paro, Bhutan (Please check the flight timing). The flight from Delhi/Kathmandu is considered as one of the most scenic flight offering the view of the world’s top ten highest peaks. Upon your arrival in Paro airport our guide will be there to welcome you and transfer to your hotel. Later after lunch visit some of the cultural sights and get used to the left hand driven roads of Bhutan. Evening collect your bikes and take few rounds around Paro valley.

Day 02| Haa Excursion (145 Kms)

Day excursion to Haa valley. Morning start your ride to the remote valley of Haa. The ride is all uphill till you reach the pass of Chelela (3800 mts), one of the highest motorable road in Bhutan. If the weather permits one can view the most scared and one of the highest mountain peaks in the country Mt. Jomolhari (7314m) overlooking at you. Walk around the pass with prayer flag fluttering and enjoy the fresh air. Continue your ride to the remote valley of Haa. Picnic lunch and evening back to Paro. Hot stone bath available at an additional cost.

Day 03| Paro – Thimphu (70 Kms)

Morning ride to Thimphu. Upon arrival, visit some of the cultural highlights of Thimphu. Evening walk around the happening town, the largest and the most crowded town in Bhutan.

Day 04| Thimphu – Punakha (75 Kms)

Morning ride to Punakha crossing over Dochula pass (3200 mts). If the weather permits one can enjoy a spectacular breath taking view of the highest mountain peaks of Bhutan at a sight that stretches almost 180 degrees. Take a break and walk around the newly built 108 stupas and start descending to the sub tropical valley of Punakha offering a complete different vegetation. Upon arrival in Punakha, you can visit some of the cultural sights or could go for a short hike to visit some of the holy sites.

Day 05| Punakha – Phobjikha (80 Kms)

Morning ride to the remote isolated valley of Phobjikha. From Punakha, the ride is very remote and less driven so you will have the road all for yourself. The ride is very picturesque and worth every twist and turn. Phobjikha valley is a paradise for the nature lovers and hikers. Upon your arrival, could go for a nice easy hike. Or if you are too tired after the long ride, could relax in the hotel and enjoy the breathtaking view of the valley. Being protected, this valley got electricity recently only. Farm house stay optional.

Day 06| Phobjikha – Trongsa (120 Kms)

Morning start your ride for Trongsa over Pelela pass. It’s a beautiful ride crossing over the Black Mountains which divides West Bhutan from Central Bhutan. On arrival relax in the hotel.

Overnight: Trongsa| Altitude: 2200m

 

Day 07| Trongsa – Jakar (80 Kms)

Morning walk through the single lane town of Trongsa and visit the majestic Trongsa Dzong (Fortress), the home of the royals and the largest as well. Later must visit the Ta Dzong, an ancient watchtower, which houses a unique museum. Later continue your ride, crossing over Yotong La pass and Kiki La pass and finally descending to Jakar valley.

Overnight: Jakar| Altitude: 2650m

 

Day 08| Jakar Halt

Today, you can take it easy being a rest day. We have many options today – Could visit some of the cultural sights around Jakar valley on bike or on foot. Or could ride to the isolated valley of Tang on dirt road which will take you half day. Evening stroll in Jakar town and try some local pancake and noodles.

Day 09| Jakar – Mongar (200 Kms)

Todays ride is one of your longest rides offering you wide range of vegetation crossing over Thrumshingla pass, at 4,000m making it the highest motorable road in Bhutan. After the pass, you start descending through steep road offering the beautiful view of Namling waterfall. Finally you reach the warm town of Limithang. You will see a change in wide range of vegetation from Alpine to Sub tropical. Finally after crossing the bridge, you will need to climb till you reach Mongar at the hilltop.

Day 10| Lhuntse Day Excursion (155 Kms)

Day excursion to Lhuentse, the ancestors of our kings hailed from this province, the villagers of these areas are popularly known for their weavings and the most intricate designs comes from Lhuentse. It’s a beautiful drive through many remote villages offering beautiful landscape. After visiting the Dzong, take s short detour to the village of Khoma, the weaving center where the finest design comes from this village. Later ride back to the hotel.

Day 11| Mongar – Trashi Yangtse (115 Kms)

Ride to the remote province of Tashi Yangtse, crossing over the pass of Kori La, and crossing many villages and paddy fields and the popular Yadi loop. After crossing the Rolong Chuu bridge, we can see the view of Trashigang Dzong, we take a diversion from Chakzam following the river to Yangtse. As soon as you reach Tashi Yangtse you will be greeted by Chorten Kora temple, the landmark, a circular white stupa. Visit the town and villagers making the Dapas (wooden bowls). Being a very remote town, the hotel standard is very basic.

Overnight: Trashi Yangtse| Altitude: 1650m

 

Day 12| Trashi Yangtse – Trashigang (95 Kms)

After breakfast visit some of the cultural sites. Start retracing your journey back till checkpoint at the bridge and start climbing up till you reach Trashigang. Later visit the impressive Trashigang Dzong, overlooking north part of its province. Walk around the little town but the busiest town of east Bhutan. Evening back to your hotel and relax.

Day 13| Trashigang – Samdrup Jongkhar (180 Kms)

Morning start your ride for Bhutan India border town, S/Jongkhar. The ride goes through many villages and picturesque landscape as you descend over the balcony of Himalayas. Being the India Bhutan border town, it might not be of your Bhutanese traditional expectations. Upon arrival, you guide will assist you to find your transport for the next day to drive you to the airport. Bid farewell to your bikes. Farewell dinner at the hotel.

Overnight: Samdrup Jongkhar| Altitude: 150m

 

Day 14| Departure

Morning, your guide will help you to complete the immigration formalities and will bid your farewell. Drive to Guwhati airport (2 Hrs) and catch your flight for Kolkotta/Delhi.
